So this part should be completed in about 12 rows. On the second question, I see that you use the term "alternate rows" so I think that means only on the knit rows. Increasing 2 on each knit row gets me to 58 on the knit row and I will purl the next row. It's working out well now.Nancy Wittstrucknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3164828937111098933.post-25132251874231378282022-04-02T21:30:14.890+01:002022-04-02T21:30:14.890+01:00Thank you so much for the Build A Bear onesie patt...Thank you so much for the Build A Bear onesie pattern... it's so cute! I'm trying it for the first time and have a question. After the ribbed leg cuff I have 46 stitches. First row of stockinette puts me at 47. At the end of the 4th row I have 48. At this rate, it looks like it will take 28 rows of stockinette to get to 54. Is that correct? And the next row would be a knit row with 2 increases to be at 56, and the next row would be a purl with 2 increases to be at 58. However it then says to purl the next row, which would knock it out of stockinette. I think I have a misunderstanding here. Can you help clarify? I presume the edge stitches are only worked once each at the beginning of the Knitting and the end? I am confused by the 4 stitch repeat as that leaves one column of stitches on the left unexplained.....in other words, totally confused. Do I work all columns except the first and last each time or just the four stitch repeat. I have tried both and I am still no wiser. Sorry to be so dim but could you point me to a tutorial that would help maybe? I do hope you can help as my grandson is expecting great things!!!
